Discovery Time

Discovery Time happens every Friday from 11.30am - 1pm.  There are a variety of activities and resources set up for the class. The children choose where they would like to be and for how long. 

Discovery is an opportunity to cater for the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of each child. Research supports that discovery time is a good platform to do this.  There are a variety of play based options, set-up activities and student or parent led learning.

In class we have been focusing on keeping ourselves safe and have been investigating road signs and what they mean.  We set up a mini scooter road/track with signs on chairs and the children tried really hard to follow the directions. We were lucky to have some students from Room One to help co-ordinate this.  The children had a blast and were all hot and sticky afterwards.
