ANZAC Wreath

Room 15 made an ANZAC wreath for the school assembly.  We made red poppies with the glue gun and we put our name on them.  It was fun.  At the assembly we listened to some music with a trumpet.

Apple crumble and ice-cream

On Friday in Discovery Marlene showed Rooms 14, 15 and 18 how to make ice-cream in the special ice cream maker.  A few of the children got to measure out and  add the ingredients.  Then we got to watch the maker mix it all up.  Eltham Tech Centre donated a big bucket of freshly picked apples and together we brainstormed some ideas about how to use them up.  We decided on apple crumble and  some of the children got to go to the kitchen and make it.  Today Marlene and her helpers cooked it up and we got to sample the goods - and the children loved it! Ask your child about how it tasted.  Perhaps if you get time over the holidays you could have a go at making apple crumble together.

Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea is a little pony.  She is 8 years old.  Today Sweet Pea came on a truck to visit our school. She walked into all the classes.  It was funny when she ate an apple, she ate it all - even the seeds (and it made a big mess on the carpet).  Sweet Pea was sniffing and licking us.  We got to brush her tail.  She has little hooves in the shape of a letter 'U'.  Sweet Pea smelt nice because she had a wash and Kaysey had used horse shampoo.  Room 15 loved having Sweet Pea to visit and lots of the children now want a pet pony. Ask your child to tell you all about it.

Kiwi Golf

Yesterday we went to Kiwi Golf.  Our golf teachers name was Murray.  He showed us how to hold a golf club.  We had a competition and Billie was the winner because she hit the ball the longest.  It was fun learning about golf.
