If I was a princess... By Charlotte

If I was a princess I would have a great big room and a beautiful garden.  I would have 30 puppies.

If I was a prince.... By Kase

If I was a prince I would let my guards fight other soldiers.  I would be the boss.

Reduce, Re-use and Recycle

Our theme this term is taking care of our environment - inside and outside.  We are focusing on four areas in our class that together we can improve.

Room 9 children identified that the food scrap bin was one area that we needed to work on.
We are trying really hard to put only food scraps in the bucket.

We wrote about ways to reduce the rubbish in our classroom.
Together we brainstormed a list of things that we could do to make a difference.
Keira shared her 'rubbish free' lunch box with the class.  All of her lunch was packed into little containers that could be re-used and also a plastic bag which she put back in her lunch box for the next day.

Another area that we think we can improve on is our discovery resources and storing them nicely.  We bring boxes, lids, cardboard, wool, to be re-used in this time.  Together we are working on keeping this tidy so that our classroom looks neat and we still have these great resources to keep using at discovery time.

Welcome to Room 9

Room 9 love sharing all the exciting things that happen in and around our classroom.

We especially enjoy show casing all the great learning that is happening and all the wonderful language experiences we partake in.

This is also a great place to celebrate the visitors that we welcome to Room 9.

Please take the time to read through our wonderful work and look at all our photo's.

You are welcome to leave us a comment so we know you have visited our blog.

Guinea pigs visit Room 9

Breeze bought in her pet guinea pigs to share for news.  We learnt about what Breeze feeds them and where they sleep.

We each got to hold a guinea pig.  They felt fluffy and we found out that they have sharp claws.

Guinea pigs make an interesting noise.  It made us all laugh!

Ann visits Room 9 to talk to us about diabetes

Ann is reading a story to Room 9 about diabetes.  We are getting all prepared and ready for when Brooke starts in our class.

Brooke is showing the class her pump.  Room 9 asked lots of interesting questions about diabetes.  Brooke showed us how she has a finger prick test.  Ann talked to us about why this happens and also about the medicine that Brooke has in her pump.
